The 27-year-old actress, who has had back-to-back releases including "NH10" and "Bombay Velvet", is exhausted and has been advised to rest by her doctors.

"Anushka has taken ill suddenly after completing her film promotions today and has been advised by the doctor to rest completely for a day or two as she is exhausted and is showing signs of effects of heat, so that she can resume the promotional activities soon. She regrets she will not be able to travel to Kolkata as planned due to this," a statement from her publicist read.

The cast of "Dil Dhadakne Do" including Farhan Akhtar, Anil Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and director Zoya Akhtar and producer Ritesh Sidhwani are in Kolkata to kick-start the promotions of the film, which will release on June 5.
