With no available dates in near sight, Karan Johar's film will have to wait for eight months before its release

While the industry watched with bated breath in anticipation of the big clash, Shahid Kapoor apparently requested Karan to let go of the date. But it looks like the filmmaker’s generous act has cost him dearly. Says a source, “It was quite a sticky situation for Karan but he let go of the date to honour Shahid’s request.

But the following months have several big releases lined up and it seems to have upset Karan’s plans for a release.” October to December will see the release of several big banners films like Besharam, Krrish 3, Ram Leela, Dhoom 3, Bullet Raja, Gori Tere Pyar Main.

January 2014 will have Mental hitting the theatres followed by Gunday and Heropanti in February. March brings the exam season, which is considered a lean period for films. A source from Karan’s production house says, “It is quite an anticipated project and it can’t afford a blink-and-miss release.”u00a0
