Rani Kapur, mother of the late Sunjay Kapur and the former Chairperson of Sona Comstar, has publicly spoken for the first time since her son's untimely death in June 2025. Sunjay Kapur tragically lost his life to a heart attack while playing polo in London. Following his death, there have been disputes in their family-owned company, Sona Comstar. Her recent message was filled with grief, longing, and a steadfast passion to protect the legacy she helped build alongside her late husband.

Rani Kapur's statement

Talking to ANI, she said, "I still don't know what happened to my son," her voice heavy with sorrow. She added, "I'm old now. I need closure before I go." Rani recalled the early days of the company, which she spent building and nurturing with her late husband. She shared, "I remember the early days of Sona--built with care, sacrifice, and love," highlighting her emotional connection to the company's roots. She spoke with conviction about her role in shaping the business, alongside her husband, as they laid its foundation.
