Yusha Nafees, the top seed from UP, overcame a tricky opponent in TN's Mihir Bopanna to win 11-6, 11-4, 11-5 and enter the quarter-finals of the boys U-16 in the All-India Willingdon JSW Junior Open at the Willingdon Sports Club on Thursday.
Also advancing to the quarter-finals was Yusha's sister Fabiha, who outplayed Maharashtra's Jai Lend 11-3, 11-1, 11-0. Meanwhile, girls U-15 top seed Akanksha Gupta of Maharashtra beat Kuhu Parekh 11-0, 11-1, 11-1 to enter the Last Eight.

She was joined by TN's second seed Vyomika Khaldelwal, who beat Sania Monteiro 11-2, 11-4, 11-4. Rura Singh and Anika Dubey of Maharashtra also made the Last Eight with straight game wins over Prithika Deb and Evana Gada respectively.
