Michael Phelps with wife Nicole
America's swimming legend Michael Phelps has thanked wife Nicole for being a constant support in his life. Phelps is the most successful and most decorated Olympian of all time, with a total of 28 medals.
When he won eight gold medals at the 2008 Beijing Games, Phelps broke fellow American swimmer Mark Spitz's 1972 record of seven first-place finishes at any single Olympic Games. The former swimmer has struggled with mental health issues.
Phelps recently told People magazine that his wife means everything to him. "She's absolutely everything for me. I've been able to truly find my best friend, somebody who's seen me on my best days and my worst days and so far, she hasn't run yet," he said.
The couple has three sons, Boomer (five), Beckett (three) and Maverick (two) and Phelps finds them incredible. "I'm very lucky and my kids are just incredible. It's been a fun journey and I look forward to where they're going to take us next. We're always on our toes. They're always having us laugh," remarked Phelps.
