Adrian Sutil and Paul Di Resta had looked set to qualify in the top 10 for Sunday's Malaysian Grand Prix with the German actually topping the timesheets on a dry track in the first session.

But rain midway through qualifying meant Sutil could only manage the ninth fastest time while Di Resta failed to make it to the top 10 as the rain arrived just when the Scot was on his first flying lap.
"Definitely we were looking to one of the best qualifying times but then the rain came in and destroyed our plans," Sutil told reporters after qualifying.
"I knew it was going to be difficult in the rain. Normally I like it, but with these tyres I just don't feel comfortable in the car," Sutil said, adding that he could have ended the session in the top five had it stayed dry. u00a0
