Altenburg said that the team's focus would be to gradually improve as the tournament progresses. "Tomorrow we won't be as good as compared to the end of the tournament.

We are aware that Punjab has some of the best players in the world," said Altenburg. He also revealed that the team would appoint four skippers for the tournament and Vikram Pillay will captain the side in for today's opener while Arjun Halappa, Glenn Turner and Mathew Swann will take over the reins of the side in future games.
