Defending champions Indian Oil thumped Maharashtra State Police 12-2 even as losing finalists Air India surprisingly drew their Pool A match 4-4 against South Central Railway in the 49th Bombay Gold Cup hockey tournament yesterday.

Roshan Minz top-scored with four goals for the oilmen while Prabjot Singh found the mark on three occasions.

Hamza Mujtaba and Gurjinder Singh scored braces while Sunil Yadav rounded off the tally. Mukund Rajput and Vinod Manugade scored the goals for the losing side.
