Argentina striker Lionel Messi has had a fantastic World Cup so far. Unfortunately though, his name is yet not on the scorers list. And the diminutive and more often than not punitive striker has sent out strong feelers that he would love to score against Germany in the quarter-finals.

Four years ago, Argentina star Lionel Messi watched from the sidelines as his team slumped to a defeat against Germany. This year though, he will be a key player

Four years ago Argentina lost in the quarter-finals and according to Messi 'it was an extremely sad moment for us'.

"I didn't feature in that game and that still hurts. However this time we are well aware of our quality and hope to progress through to the semis, Messi said.

In all four of Argentina's matches till now Messi has come very close to scoring but hasn't been able to find the back of the net.

"I could have scored against Mexico, but luck wasn't on my side. I had so many shots on goal but the ball refused to cross the goalline," Messi said.

"We played a great game against Mexico and were in total control. However Germany are a dangerous side and the match against them won't be easy. I hope to score against them.

"I am feeling great at the moment. I am happy with my game and only goals are missing right now. I wish to score as soon as possible and I hope to perform well against Germany," Messi said.

Messi and Argentina will look to attain their objective on Saturday.
