Former batsman Graham Thorpe has been appointed as England's lead batting coach.
The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) appointed Thorpe, who has previously coached teams in England and Australia, as a replacement for Australian Dene Hills.
The 41-year-old was identified as a potential member of the backroom team by England coach Andy Flower following his good work with ECB's academy squad in Abu Dhabi.
After retiring from Test cricket in 2005, Thorpe had moved to Australia, where he worked as an assistant coach with New South Wales.

He returned to Surrey in November 2008 as batting coach, The Sun reports.
Earlier, the ECB had announced that Hills would be leaving the team after the second Ashes Test in Adelaide to link up with Australia as their assistant coach.
