The two legends met before the start of the Indian Premier League match between Mumbai Indians and Delhi Daredevils. Tendulkar, who turns 40 on Wednesday, was delighted to meet Sir Viv, who has just joined Daredevils in an ambassadorial role.
The crowd roared when the little master entered the ground for a warm-up. He soon spotted the West Indian great giving a TV interview and walked straight towards him.
Though the chat was not long, it was filled with smiles. Tendulkar also showed Richards his bat, after which he, the epitome of discipline that he is, was soon back to his pre-match drills.
