The wax statue, which will now be part of Madame Tussauds museum here at Darling Harbour, shows Tendulkar raising his bat and helmet in elation on completing a century. It is similar to the one in the London branch of the famous museum.

In Sydney, Tendulkar will be placed besides Sir Don Bradman and Shane Warne. u00a0However, the wax statue has the 2012 ICC World T20 u00a0t-shirt, a tournament which Tendulkar was not part of.

In fact, the icon has not represented India in any of the four T20 World events. He has played only one T20 international for India - in Johannesburg - on the 2006-07 tour of South Africa.

The Swami Army turned up at the SCG and sang in honour of their favourite batsman. On Friday, Tendulkar told MiD DAY that he viewed the wax honour in Sydney as a fine 40th birthday gift. u00a0
