Pune Warriors India outclassed KXIP by five wickets, with 17 balls remaining in their Indian Premier League (IPL) match at the Punjab Cricket Association (PCA) Stadium here last night.

Batting first, KXIP made 119-8 in their stipulated 20 overs and Pune Warriors reached 120 in only 17.1 overs for the loss of only five wickets with Yuvraj Singh playing a captain's knock of 35 in just 15 balls, hitting five fours and two sixes.

For Pune Warriors, Wayne Parnell, Mitchell Marsh, Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Rahul Sharma took two wickets each. Pune have moved to eighth place in the points tally with six points. Kings XI Punjab suffered their fifth defeat in a row. They are now at the bottom with six points.u00a0 Mumbai Indians lead the table with 16 points in 10 games.

Shaun Marsh (32), Dinesh Karthik (30) and Paul Valthaty (23) failed to cash in on their starts. Thus, Punjab did not have any solid partnerships. The 30-run stand between Karthik and Marsh was their best. Valthaty was cautious and waited for the loose balls but his team didn't prosper in the end. He hit three boundaries in Shrikanth Wagh's first over. Punjab skipper Adam Gilchrist could score only 3. He was dismissed by leg-spinner Rahul Sharma who had the Aussie caught at deep mid-wicket.
