Indian women's cricket team did not enjoy the same result against arch-rival Pakistan as compared to the men's team in the World Twenty20.
The Indian eves lost to Pakistan by one run in a nail-biting thriller here yesterday. Set a target of mere 98 runs, the Indians fumbled to finish on 97 for eight in their 20 overs during a Group A clash. They will now have to beat hosts Sri Lanka tomorrow to qualify for the 2014 edition.

Electing to bat, the Pakistanis batting was no better than India with wickets falling at regular intervals. Skipper Sana Mir top scored with a 38-ball 26. Barring Nain Abidi (25) and Asmavia Iqbal (10), none of the other batters managed to hit the double-digit mark. Indian bowlers picked up wickets regularly. Pacer Jhulan Goswami delivered a rare maiden over, conceding just 16 runs in her four overs which fetched two wickets.
The Pakistanis failed to qualify for the semi-finals despite this win as they finished third in the four-team group ahead of India.
