Sachin Tendulkar reached his double century in Bangalore just as Sir Vivian Richards landed in Kolkata yesterday to be part of the Puja festivities.

"Tendulkar is the No 1 entertainer in contemporary international cricket. He is a genius, and I knew he would hit a double ton in Bangalore," he said. Richards is in India to represent the Antiguan contingent at the Commonwealth Games.

Comparisons between him and the little Indian were slammed. "It is not right to compare anyone with me. Tendulkar is an all-time great, but to say he's the best batsman ever is not fair. I don't like comparisons," he said.

But he said this: "After Sunny Gavaskar, he is the only legendary Indian cricketer." Probably, the great West Indian forgot Kapil Dev.
