The track was tailormade as per the Delhi team management's demand for a hard and bouncier track for their batsmen to play their strokes freely and for the seam bowlers to get some advantage. The ploy however horribly backfired for the Delhi side.
The Kochi side celebrate the wicket of Delhi's Yogesh Nagar.Their two opening batsmen, skipper Virender Sehwag and Australian David Warner managed to score just 15 and 13 runs respectively, while none of their pace bowlers managed to take advantage of the seaming track.

The Delhi side were in fact struggling after losing openers Sehwag and Warner early and tottering at 43/3 before Venugopal Rao (40 off 36 balls) and Travis Brit (27 off 15 balls) helped the hosts reach what looked like a respectable total.
For Kochi, Vinay Kumar and debutant Prasanth Parameswaran, who was adjudged Man of the match, took two wickets each.
