At least three people were killed Monday in a bombing in this northwestern city of Pakistan, a day after a powerful blast left 13 people, including the city mayor, dead.


At least three people were killed Monday in a bombing in this northwestern city of Pakistan, a day after a powerful blast left 13 people, including the city mayor, dead.

The explosion took place at Patang Chowk area near Faqirabad police station, Geo News reported Monday.

Three people were killed in the blast.

According to eyewitnesses, the explosives were placed in a vehicle. The explosion set a rickshaw on fire.

Just a day before, 13 people, including the mayor, were killed and 36 were wounded near here when a suicide bomber blew up a car.

This city faced this year's worst terror attack in Pakistan Oct 28 when over 110 people were killed in a massive bombing at a crowded market.

Pakistan has witnessed a series of terror strikes as the army battles the Taliban in mountainous South Waziristan. The Taliban have vowed to retaliate.

The latest wave of militant violence started with a suicide bombing at the offices of the UN World Food Programme in Islamabad Oct 5.
