Never mind Ming vases and dusty comics. The next big thing in antiques could be mobile phones. So, don't worry if yours is costing you a fortune, one day it could make you a mint.
Old-style "brick" mobiles are becoming a must-have collectable. Experts believe they could become highly valuable antiques of the future. Tom Cable, who runs collectable mobile phone website Retrobrick.com, has seen prices double in the past year. He said, "Interest in retro mobiles is growing. People buy them for all sorts of reasons. They feel nostalgic about their first phone, in the same way they do about their first car. Others want them as ornaments and young people also want an old-style phone for a grandparent because they have bigger buttons."
Incidentally, mobiles have been around for less than 25 years.
