Alan Bacon, who was initially delighted to be offered an interview after handing in a CV after recently completing a degree from the University of South Wales, has spoken of his âhumiliation' after being forced to do a David Brent-style dance during a job interview at Currys, the Mirror reported.
The 21-year-old graduate from Newport, who was taken aback after being asked to perform a âdance off' for the sales assistant role but had to smile and get on with it as he is desperate for a job, said that everyone initially thought it was a joke, but the company was serious.
Bacon, who eventually gave in, said that he felt embarrassed and uncomfortable dancing to âAround the World' by Daft Punk, doing silly robotics in his suit in front of a group of strangers.
A group of nine interviewees including Bacon, who later received a call where he was told "he wouldn't fit in with the team", were forced to split into two groups and make up a dance in front of watching staff.
Currys insist the dance part of the interview had been a mistake and that the staff that held the interview were being investigated.u00a0
