Husband, two kids suffer minor injuriesA woman died in an accident between an autorickshaw and a truck in east Delhi on Tuesday night. At around 1 am, Raghuveer Gupta (35) was on his way home to Mandawali in his auto with his wife Kamalesh Gupta (30) and their two children. A speeding truck (HR 55 H 3276) hit the auto from behind on National Highway- 24.
The auto keeled over and Kamalesh was thrown out because of the impact; she fell under the rear wheels of the truck and was crushed to death. Instead of stopping, the truck driver accelerated and fled from the spot. Raghuveer and his two children suffered minor injuries.u00a0
Raghuveer called up the police and reported the incident. The police took the body of the deceased for postmortem and lodged an FIR against the driver of the truck. The police have circulated the registration number of the truck on the wireless and search for the culprit is on.
"We received a PCR call about an accident and when our team reached the spot, they discovered that the lady had died; her body was crushed badly. The victim Raghuveer noted down the registration number of the truck and we have informed our units about the absconding driver. We have registered an FIR under section 304(A) of the IPC against the truck driver," said a police officer.
