Enthused by the PMC's ambitious project of developing a web portal to facilitate online shopping at Tulshibaug, city-based medical professional Shilpa Rathore and her team has gone a step ahead.
The group is developing an online shopping portal with video-calling software that will aid buyers interact with stall owners at Laxmi Road and Tulshibaug in real time. This facility will not only help buyers bargain and have a look at the product, but will also help reduce the crowd.

Speaking with MiD DAY, Rathore said, "Considering the disadvantages of online shopping, we thought of developing this portal. He one can actually see the product and bargain with the seller before making a purchase."

When asked why her team chose Tulashibaug and Laxmi Road market, she said, "Shopping in Tulshibaug is quite nostalgic, specially for Puneites who have been here but have now moved to other cities. Also, these areas are always teeming with people. This project will help reduce the crowd."
Rathore informed that they had approached the civic body for permission. "But we were told that it doesn't come under their authority. Now, we are directly approaching vendors and making them understand the concept," she said, adding that the team has already conducted a trial, and is all set to launch the portal in association with some selected sellers.u00a0
