The incident occurred at 6 pm, when constable Motiram More, attached with Pydhonie traffic division, intercepted a Skoda car (MH43 V 4432) driving on the wrong side of the narrow and busy road.
According to Pydhonie traffic department officials, More then asked the car driver to take his car to the side, so that the traffic could move.
However, the driver and the woman started abusing him, with the driver then even resorting to kicking and punching him to vent his anger, before fleeing from the spot. More regained his composure, and quickly informed the JJ Marg police.
