Trio had looted a businessman's employee of Rs 32 lakh on April 28
Delhi Police's Crime Branch has arrested three persons in connection with a robbery of Rs 32 lakh that took place in Lahori Gate area on April 28. DCP (Crime) Ashok Chand said that the accused have been identified as Manjeet Singh alias Dholiya (61), his son-in-law Virender alias Mantoo a vagabond of Sultanpuri area, and Sarwan Singh (75).

"Police have recovered around Rs 12 lakh in cash and jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh from them. They had looted Rs 32 lakh and had bought gold jewellery of Rs 20 lakh using the cash," said the DCP.
The official added that Manjeet lives in Naya Bazar area of Lahori Gate where the robbery was committed. He knew about the huge cash transactions conducted by the victim businessman's employees. Manjeet then hatched a plan to rob them early morning on a particular day.
"With this plan the gang attacked the three employees of businessman Rajnish Garg who deals in rice. The three employees of the businessman Naresh, Naveen and Raju were carrying cash in bags and were on their way to office. They reached Naya Bazaar area in a car. They got off the vehicle and were walking towards the office when the three accused came on two bikes and attacked them. Raju, Naveen and Naresh tried to raise an alarm but they were held hostage at gunpoint," said the police official.
Police said that the cash was to be deposited with HDFC bank. An FIR in this respect was registered with Lahori Gate police station on the basis of the statement given by businessman Rajnish Garg and his three employees. Crime Branch was also doing a parallel investigation and came to know that Manjeet could be behind the incident.
