Ramani had accused both of them of disowning her. Ramani said she was admitted to the hospital some three months ago for a minor surgery on her left hand that she had injured during her stay at an old age home near Virar. The octogenarian said she had spent four years at the old age home.
Medical Social Worker Nishigandha Bhandare, who works at the hospital, said, "Her sons came in the afternoon and took her home."

A hospital employee said Narendra and Umesh yelled at others staffers and questioned them about how the media came to know about their mother. They even asked the staff to keep Ramani for another day, but the hospital authorities denied permission.
When the Ramani brothers were questioned about their mother's future, one of them said they would be sending her to another old age home near Belapur. They even cleared Shobha Muliya's pending dues, whom the brothers had appointed as Ramani's full-time caretaker since the time she was admitted to the hospital.
It was Muliya who looked after the 80-year-old during her stay at the hospital.u00a0
