The victim's husband Narhari Bansode (65) had sustained a head injury and lost some blood after Palande pushed him on the day. The couple had been on their way to a funeral in Wanoworie.
"Two passers-by and a rickshaw driver got my bleeding, unconscious husband admitted to a command hospital nearby. He was discharged on January 18," said Palande.
Inspector Suresh Kenkane of the Crime Branch arrested Palande on January 19. The police recovered gold worth Rs 14 lakh in just last 6 months.
"Palande stole to fund his gambling habit in Mumbai. We arrested him near JJ Garden in Camp, following a tip-off," said Kenkane.
