At least three Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) troopers were killed and several injured on Saturday in the third Maoist attack in Chhattisgarh in two days

Maoists attacked CRPF men when they were inspecting a jungle site to set up a base camp in Dantewada district as the Supreme Court has ordered security personnel to vacate school buildings, police said.

A chopper has been sent from Dantewada town to the attack site to airlift injured CRPF men. The casualty figures may rise, said Director General of Police (DGP) Vishwa Ranjan, who is in Bastar after Maoists attacked the police on Thursday.

Maoists carried out double attacks in the Bastar region on Thursday. In Nayanpur district, five policemen were killed on Thursday.

On Friday, at least 10 security personnel were killed after Maoists blew up an anti-land mine vehicle in the Katikalyan area in Dantewada district.

The deceased include seven Special Police Officers (SPO) and three constables.
