Malvika Iyer's life story is incredible and nothing short of an inspiration. She is a bomb blast survivor who lost both her hands at the tender age of 13 in a grenade explosion. But the setback did not dither her from taking up challenges and she became an activist, a PhD scholar and a motivational speaker.
Just this week, she posted a series of tweets on her birthday on February 18, reflecting on her life with her positive side. In the tweets, which were excerpts from her speech she delivered at the United Nations, she talks about the mistake surgeons made while stitching back her hand after the grenade explosion and how it became a blessing for her.

Iyer also talks about she was able to write her PhD thesis and develop her website because of the bone protruding from her stump that became her finger and helped her type. She also said that ever since she started healing from her injuries, she has been celebrating every big and small achievement in her life and how every experiences she has had has been special for her.
In the end she thanked her followers for supporting her and showering her their love for her.
Among the users who commented on her post, actor Rajeev Khandelwal conveyed his birthday wishes and said that she inspires, to which she thanked him in reply. Other users commented on her post, appreciating her courage and calling her an inspiration.
Malvika Iyer, a recipient of the Nari Shakti Puraskar is also a champion for gender equality and a model for accessible fashion.
