The three-member committees will be headed by the Superintending Engineer of minor irrigation projects in Pune, Aurangabad, Amravati and Nashik, EGS and Water Conservation Minister Nitin Raut said.
The panels will cover Western Maharashtra, Marathwada, Vidarbha and North Maharashtra.
The committees will study the ground situation in drought-hit districts and suggest temporary and long-term schemes that need to be undertaken, he said, adding they will submit their reports in seven days.
The proposals will be discussed in the Cabinet , he added.
Raut said drought conditions were very severe in Pune, Satara, Sangli, Solapur, Latur, Osmanabad, Amravati, Buldhana, Nagpur, Gondia, Gadchiroli, Nashik, Ahmednagar, Dhule and Nandurbar.
