An everyday yoga inspired art exhibition in town might help

With more and more celebrities like Shilpa Shetty, apart from us commoners taking up Yoga, the age old art has become a way of life for most urban professionals. Now, even artists are finding inspiration in the yogic way of life. Not that they are practicing the aasanas, but on canvas, yes. With Indian meditation as her muse, Washington-based artist Rajika Vani Banerjee is showcasing her maiden exhibition, Enlighten, in the capital.
Rajika, who has earlier held exhibitions in Melbourne and her home town, amalgamates the twin concepts of art and yoga. "I have been a yoga acharya for the last 10 years and been teaching in India and abroad. My paintings do not promote Yoga, but rather express the joy I feel when I connect myself to this form of art," she said. Go, get some peace of mind in water colours.
