Husband-wife killed in accident at Lonavala

A husband-wife duo was killed on the spot and their three-year-old daughter critically injured after a speeding water tanker hit the two-wheeler on which they were travelling near Ambarwadi in Lonavala yesterday afternoon.


According to the police, the deceased were identified as Santosh Mahadeo Jadhav (30) and his wife Rohini (28), residents of Krushnanagar in Chinchwad. Their daughter Arya is critical and currently battling for life at a private hospital.u00a0

According to the police, the Jadhav's were on their way to Pune from Lonavala and had reached Ganesh temple on the old Mumbai-Pune highway when their motorcycle bearing number MH AQ 8999 was knocked down by the water tanker (MH 04 P 5149).

The driver fled the spot following the accident. The police have booked the driver on charges of rash and negligent driving. No arrests have been made so far.u00a0
