Some Like It Hot has more in common with the Lokhandwala shopper than Hollywood pin-up Marilyn Monroe, but its nerdy style, affordable drinks and lengthy Continental menu have enough star power
Classic black and white Hollywood pin-ups are shrunku00a0 on the walls of Some Like It Hot, the new Continental restaurant, next door to Andheri's Indian cuisine favourite Masala Mantar.
The interior designer of this place probably has a fascination for cherry red the colour takes over the seating, the lights, the menu. But the well-stocked neon green backlit bar avoids the red overkill.
On the Friday that we dropped by, families with half a dozen kiddies in tow dined next to girls in hot shorts and nerds carrying skull-emblazoned backpacks.

The spiffy nerd adorning the menu gave us hope that suburban restaurants have a sense of humour, after all.
Partly a spillover from the hugely popular desi restaurant, the family was nonetheless enjoying their Crunchy Drumsticks (Rs 159) as Black Eyed Peas' Boom Boom Pow thumped on the flat screens and speakers.
Our New England Iced Tea (most cocktails are priced at Rs 239), which replaced the coke in Long Island Iced Tea with cranberry juice, was no match for the real McCoy.
This, we knew, after promptly following up the pink cocktail with a LIIT. The staff here is suitably friendly.
Our waiter Mohit ensured we bared our pearly whites in all the photos we asked him to click, later becoming the subject of one as well. Strictly informal, the vibe here got us dizzy faster than the alcohol.
Nachos with Beans (Rs 139) were favourable, but the Canalloni Al Forno (Rs 229) could have had a less sweet sauce and been stuffed with fewer greens, while the Chicken Thai Green Curry (Rs 239) was competent.
It was the Blueberry Cheese Cake (Rs 149) that really got us swooning. The cream cheese was light but thick and the blueberry jam on top was delicious.

Some Like It Hot is great for a first date or a post-work bitching session with half-priced drinks and cheesy chicken.
