HC notice to state on illegal mining

The high court on Monday issued notice to the state government regarding the illegal mining scam.

The notice was issued based on a Lokayukta report on the illegal mining in Bellary district. The court has asked the government to submit its reply by February 24.

The Lokayukta in its report has mentioned that the nexus between bureaucrats and politician had caused crores of rupees loss to the state exchequer.
