A group of farmers in Rajasthan's Sikar partially buried themselves in pits to protest the acquisition of their lands for a toll road. "We are demanding the government to compensate for the losses," Narendra Batad, member of the Sangharsh Samiti told ANI.
If our demands are not accepted by the government our protest will intensify day by day, added Batad. He said that the depth of the pits would be increased by one foot each day and the protest would be carried out during the daytime.
Batad said on Monday a rally will be taken out to continue the protest.
