In a east-meets-west musical feast, Sarod maestro Ustad Amjad Ali Khan and Scottish Chamber Orchestra will perform together today (Feb 16) at Chowdiah Memorial Hall at 7.30 pm.
Organised by Seagram's 100 Pipers Pure Music in association with Scotland and the British Council, the event is named Samaagam.
Notated and conducted by music conductor David Murphy. Samaagam will be a concerto of Sarod and Europe's leading chamber orchestras.
Amjad Ali Khan is universally credited for elevating the Sarod as one of the India's most popular classical instruments. u00a0
The Scottish Chamber Orchestra is recongised internationally for its innovative approach to music-making and its imaginative programme planning.
