A case has been registered against a doctor and three employees of a government hospital here for dumping two seriously ill patients on the outskirts of the district, police said Wednesday

Doctor Sonu Sharma, ward boys Dharmendra and Raju Yadav and ambulance driver Shiv Nirmal of the Swaroop Rani Nehru Hospital were booked for attempt to murder.

Barring the doctor, the others have been arrested.

According to police, following Sharma's instructions, the ward boys and the ambulance driver Tuesday dumped two of the hospital patients who were deserted by their attendants probably due to poor financial conditions.

"After the matter was brought to our notice, we got the patients re-admitted in the hospital. The hospital employees had dumped the two men on the outskirts of Jhunsi town," Additional Superintendent of Police Jai Prakash told reporters.

"While one of the patients is suffering from jaundice, the other one is suffering from epilepsy," he added.

Hospital chief S.P Singh told reporters: "An inquiry has been initiated into the matter. Strict action will be taken against all those involved in the inhumane act.

"It will be ensured that the two patients do not face any kind of problem during the treatment."
