Dance to the Braveheart tune with new Josh

DJ Darren Bailie of the Guru Josh Project promises a wild time for everyone in his upcoming gig

For Punekars, it's time to party. The man behind some of the biggest dance hits in the past two years, DJ Darren Bailie of the Guru Josh Project, will be in the city. Here in India from August 11 to 14, he will perform at various cities across the country including Hyderabad, New Delhi and Mumbai. Darren's played all over the world in the past few months with some of the best names in EDM some of whom include DJ Tiesto, Tommy Lee, Howard Donald, Felix Da House Cat, Lexy's K-Paul, Armin Van Helden and many more. But that doesn't mean Darren isn't excited about his first gig in the country. "I have worked on some special tracks to play in Pune and other cities. It's all a surprise and I do not want to talk about it now. But I can promise that the crowd will have a wild time during the gig," smiles Darren.

Darren has received numerous awards including at the Miami Winter Music Conference last year where he won Best Dance/Garage Track in the world at the IDMA's (WMC) -- the Oscar's of the dance music world. His tracks have topped charts consistently, with Infinity occupying space there for almost weeks in 2008. Another song that is a favourite with his fans is Protect Your Mind 2009, which is mix of the Braveheart theme.

Music, according to Darren,u00a0 is the most integral part of his life. The music does not need international repute to pass muster with his discerning ears. " I appreciate all kinds of music," he says. He is particularly interested in learning more about Indian music. "Though I haven't listened to Indian music but I have heard a lot about it. I am eagerly waiting to meet some musicians during my trip. It will be a great experience, I guess."

His current projects include working on remixes for Cascada's new release -- Fever, The D.O.N.S Earth song and Boy George's cover of the popular English hymn, Amazing Grace. It's not just about the music though.

Darren also loves the fact that he gets to meet new people, interact with them during tours. Interaction, Darren confides, is the best way to come up with new ideas. "The more I meet people the more ideas I get.

Thankfully because of my work I get to travel to various parts of the country and get to see new cultures and learnu00a0 new languages," he concludes.
