Kachare was reportedly hit below his ribs and is said to be stable.u00a0According to Kharghar police, around 8 pm the cop was travelling in a friend's car when the gunmen stopped the vehicle and shot five to six rounds at Kachare.
Two bullets pierced the victim's body. The friend, who was driving the car, took Kachare to MGM hospital at Kamothe in Navi Mumbai.
According to doctors at the hospital, Kachare was out of danger though he was bleeding profusely when brought here. "He received two bullets - one of which has been removed - below his ribs. He is being operated upon to get rid of the second bullet, which is lodged near a kidney," said a physician at MGM hospital, who requested anonymity.

Navi Mumbai police refused to reveal anything about the case, claiming investigations were on.
Kiran Patil, senior police inspector from Kharghar, said, "We are probing the matter and details would be revealed in a few days."u00a0
