But for S P Y Reddy, Congress Lok Sabha member from Nandyal in Andhra Pradesh, there is no dearth of supporters. So much so that even the burglars of his area seem to love him.

The parliamentarian's official bungalow on 1, Ferozeshah Road in the high-security Lutyen's zone has been targeted five time by thieves in the last one month.

The MP's personal secretary, Vishnu Vardhan Reddy, said on August 10 two burglars had barged into the house.

"To my knowledge, more than four times they or their accomplices have targeted this house. Each time they managed to flee. But this time my wife and a servant raised an alarm and chased them. The burglars ran outside, but were overpowered with the help of a policeman," said Reddy.

The burglars entered the adjoining house, then scaled the boundary wall to enter Reddy's house. Reddy's wife had rushed along with her domestic help when she heard a loud thud.

Police said the two have been identified as Shahzad and Shahid. Reddy's wife said about a month ago, someone had vandalized their bathroom and stolen the taps.
