Victim's throat slit, mother and two-year-old brother critical
A four-year-old girl was found with her throat slit and her body dumped in the kitchen of her Patel Nagar residence late on Monday night. Police said the girl's mother and her two-year-old brother had been poisoned by the attacker who is yet to be caught.

The deceased was identified as Sunena. Her mother Sushila and brother Somnath were taken to Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital where they are undergoing treatment and their condition is stated to be critical by doctors.
"The matter was discovered by Amarnath, the father of the deceased, who was away at work when the incident took place. When he reached home late on Monday night he found Sushila lying on the floor. Froth was coming out of her mouth. He found the kitchen door locked from outside.
When he opened it he was shocked to see his four-year-old daughter lying dead. Her throat had been slit by the attacker. Somnath, his son, was also unconscious," said a senior police officer.
The officer said that Prakash, the victims' neighbour, is a suspect as he was found missing after the incident.
Police say that prima facie evidence suggests the family was first offered juice by the attacker.
"The victims had been living on the first floor of the building for some time. On the ground floor the landlord of the building ran an establishment by the name Deepika Clinic. Prakash allegedly had some differences with the landlord. But why he might have attacked Amarnath's family it is yet to ascertained," stated the officer.
Police said they were investigating the matter.
