A hydrogen cylinder explosion injured 27 people, mostly children during Republic Day celebrations in Kothrud, Pune. The blast took place minutes after the flag hoisting ceremony.
The injured children were mostly from Lokmanya Vasahat area in Paud. According to sources, 15 people have been discharged after treatment, while seven have been admitted into private hospitals for treatment.
The mishap occurred when a cylinder used for filling gas in balloons, exploded. The balloon seller was injured but managed to escape in the commotion.
