So what is common between Diego Maradona and Rohit, a fridge mechanic from east Delhi?

Arm twisting: The victim's hand was severed with a sword.

Both were saved by the hand of God. While it earned the football legend the coveted world trophy, the 25-year-old mechanic got his left hand back after being almost losing it when one of his clients chopped it. The incident occurred on Tuesday night when Rohit, who owns an electrical appliances repair shop in Chandra Vihar area in east Delhi, had gone to collect labour charges of Rs 600 from Arjun, 35.

"I had repaired Arjun's fridge a few days ago but he was still to pay Rs 600 labour charges. I had sent one of my staff to collect the money but he not only refused to pay but also beat him up. So, I decided to go myself," Rohit said.

When the 25-year-old mechanic reached Arjun's house, the latter refused to pay and started abusing him.
"He said he has no money and started threatening to kill me. When I resisted and refused to leave without money, Arjun took out a sword and attacked me. I tried to protect myself and raised my left hand against the sword," Rohit said.

The sword inflicted almost chopped the left hand with only some veins connecting the arm with the hand. Rohit's friend Angad, who had gone with him, took him to the Max Balaji Hospital in Patpar Ganj. He was lucky that doctors were able to join his hand with the arm again.

"I was bleeding profusely but my friend tied my hand with handkerchief. Then we went to the hospital and called the police. I am lucky, my hand is safe now," Rohit added.

The police have lodged an FIR against the accused and launched a manhunt for Arjun.
