Three people were injured after an oil tanker rammed into a container truck and two cars near Gaimukh Ghat on Ghodbunder Road on Sunday night, said traffic police officials. The accident led to severe traffic jam due to which the Gujarat-bound road was shut by the traffic police.
According to the police, the incident occurred on Sunday at 10.30 pm. A speeding oil tanker crashed into a container which ultimately hit two cars. Three people were injured in the accident, said police.
After being alerted, firemen and local police rushed to the spot. The injured were identified as Shrishti Patil (18), Pandurang Patil (45) and Vinod Kharat (30), all were admitted to Bhakti Vedanta hospital in Thane, said police officials.

The traffic spread for nearly eight kilometers till Majiwada in Thane. The officials are still working to clear the oil spread on the road. They also cautioned not to use this route especially bikers to avoid mishaps.
