A day after a television news channel sting operation showed bars operational amid the pandemic in two areas of Thane city, the local civic body has sealed 15 bars.
Post the sting operation on July 19, Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse Patil had asked the state DGP to submit a report, while the Thane police commissioner had placed the senior inspectors of Naupada and Vartak Nagar police stations under suspension and transferred the respective ACPs of these two divisions to the control room.
In a release issued, the Thane Municipal Corporation said 15 bars were sealed as they had violated norms laid down by authorities amid the pandemic.
