Local Shiv Sena MLA Mangesh Kudalkar with wife Rajni
A day after Shiv Sena MLA Mangesh Kudalkar's wife was found hanging at her residence in Kurla, her son from a previous marriage has asked cops to register an abetment to suicide case.
Rajni's son, Harshal Umesh Bhate, 22, approached the Nehru Nagar police soon after performing the last rites of his mother. He claimed to have got a message from her before she took the extreme step. Cops also questioned a woman from the victim's family.
Sources said a detailed statement of Kudalkar has been taken, along with Harshal's. The message states, "I am troubled with XYZ (name withheld as the investigation is on) if anything happens to me, it will be due to that woman."
DCP (zone 6) Krishnakant Upadhyay, said, "At this moment, there is no FIR. We are verifying the statement by the victim's son."
