Two cousin brothers - aged 13 and 20 - drowned at Vasai-based Suruchi beach on Sunday afternoon, Vasai Police said.
Six members of Vishwakarma family, residents of Nalasopara East, went to Suruchi beach on Sunday afternoon to spent the holiday. During hide tide, the entire family got stuck in the sea. Others managed to save themselves, but Ajit Vishwakarma (13) and Ranjeet Shivkumar Vishwakarma (20) drowned.
The fire department was informed about the incident and they rushed to the spot. Ajit and Ranjeet's bodies were recovered after two hours and were sent for post-mortem.

The Vasai police registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and are investigating the matter.
Police said Ranjeet, an IT student, had arrived in Mumbai a month back from Uttar Pradesh and was supposed to return on Monday.
