Madame Tussauds on Monday unveiled the wax figure of Mumbai's own Sachin Tendulkar at the Taj Land's End.
Wearing cricket whites and holding his bat and helmet in his customary pose, the figure was a product of the effort of over 20 artisans from Madame Tussauds.
The cricket legend who was there in the flesh at the event, said that it was a proud moment for him and had his father been alive, he would have been proud of his son.
"I'm honoured that the people from Madame Tussauds recognised my achievement as a player for the country. My wife has been a huge support to me, and my mother too. The newest addition, of course, is my daughter Sara," said Tendulkar.

Tendulkar will be the third cricketer at the museum apart from Shane Warne and Brian Lara to feature at the London museum. The figure will now be unveiled on April 24 to coincide with Tendulkar's birthday, but the player said that he wouldn't be able to personally be there on that date because of IPL commitment to the Mumbai Indians team, of which he is the captain.
