"I heard a loud sound and then saw this woman lying on the ground. I gave her some water and then tried to take her to the police station, but she fell unconscious on the way," said the witness.

Khushboo lived with her relatives at Swiss Palace, Shastri Nagar in Lokhandwala. Cops said the family had moved to Mumbai from Agra three years ago.
The deceased was the youngest of three sisters. According to an official from Vakola police station, Khushboo never left the house for long at night except for an occasional stroll in the neighbourhood.
On Sunday she went out at 9 pm and never returned. Sub-inspector Santosh Rasam of Vakola police station said, "We got a call around 1.30 am and rushed to the spot. The woman was taken to Dr VN Desai Hospital but was declared dead-on-admission."
Cops established the deceased's identity with the help of the mobile phone found on her. Later, her parents were informed, who came to the hospital to claim the body. Cops later sent her body to Cooper hospital for post mortem.
Yesterday evening, Khushboo's relatives arrived there so the autopsy could be started with their consent, which is mandatory. Preliminary reports suggest the woman had a fractured leg, femur and internal bleeding at many places that led to her death. However, cops are waiting for a detailed post-mortem account.
Senior inspector Rajendra Pardesi of Vakola police station said, "The exact cause of death is still not clear. We suspect the woman may have committed suicide, but we are investigating the case from all possible angles. We have lodged an accidental death report (ADR) and are recording statements of her relatives and friends." u00a0
