Former gangster Ashwin Naik - brother of Amar Naik - prefers to be different. Back home after spending nine years behind bars, Naik wants to do something for sports.

"I love sports and always wanted to contribute something in this field, especially hockey. I plan to form an association or start a sports club," Naik told reporters during a press conference held at his home in Chinchpokli.

When Naik visited Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) chief Raj Thackeray, there were indications that he was following Arun Gawli's steps of joining politics.

But he brushed this theory aside, at least for the moment.

"Balasaheb Thackeray is my inspiration. I always wanted to meet him," Naik said. He, however, did not rule of the possibility of walking the political path. "I am a Shiv Sainik. I will think of formally joining Sena in the future," he added.

Talking about the fued between Uddav and Raj he said, "I am a proud Marathi Manoos. The fight between Raj and Uddhav should end now. They should come together so that they can do something better for the Marathi people."

When asked if was seeking revenge from his enemies, he shot back, "I don't want to get into all these things again. God bless them all. I have already lost many things in my life. Now I want to do good work for the people."
