To avoid bogus voting, the MNS reportedly SMSed hundreds of voters and urged them to cast their vote before 2 pm yesterday.
The SMS said that bogus voting may take place in the afternoon and voters should not let votes be misused. MNS spokesperson Nitin Sardesai said, "I am not aware of such SMSes being sent out."
Engine mix-up
An independent candidate, who shares his name with MNS candidate Ram Kadam from the same constituency of Ghatkopar (W), allegedly SMSed voters to choose the Road Engine instead of saying Road Roller, which was his symbol.

The MNS candidate registered a complaint against this Independent, as this could mislead MNS voters, since their symbol was the Rail Engine.

He SMSed voters that his name was the fifth on the list and that somebody was creating confusion.
But, the police registered a case against the MNS candidate for creating a ruckus at the police station. An MNS message read: All that we need is controlling hand! So on 13 Oct cast your vote 2 only MNS candidates.
