Three persons were booked for forging documents of shop sold to woman in Navi Mumbai, police said on Thursday, reported news agency PTI.
A case has been registered against the manager of a bank and two other persons for allegedly cheating a 37-year-old woman by forging documents of a shop sold to her in Navi Mumbai to take a loan, police said on Thursday, reported PTI.
In 2012, two of the accused sold the shop located in Kamothe area of Navi Mumbai to the woman, who is a resident of Antop Hill in neighbouring Mumbai, reported PTI.
In 2016, the accused allegedly submitted forged documents pertaining to the shop to a bank, securing a loan of Rs 16 lakh in the name of another person, as per the First Information Report (FIR) registered by the Kharghar police.

The documents were submitted without the victim's knowledge and signature and without proper verification of the property, the FIR said, reported PTI.
The victim alleged that the accused failed to repay the loan amount, following which the bank seized the shop, an official from Kharghar police station said, reported PTI.
Based on her complaint, the police on Tuesday registered the FIR against the three accused under various Indian Penal Code sections for cheating, forgery and criminal conspiracy, reported PTI.
In another case, the Navi Mumbai police have registered a case after a group of people ransacked the office of a local union leader, an official said on Wednesday, reported PTI.
The official said that 20-30 people barged into the office of the local union leader, Mahesh Jadhav, on Tuesday afternoon, reported PTI.
The mob ransacked the premises and damaged furniture and fixtures there, he said, reported PTI.
The station house officer of Kamothe police station said they have registered a case for unlawful assembly and rioting under the Indian Penal Code, and the Maharashtra Police Act, reported PTI.
The police are trying to determine the motive behind the attack, he added, reported PTI.
Meanwhile, a 36-year-old man has been arrested for allegedly making jeans and other products with fake logos of a global fashion brand in central Mumbai, a police official said on Wednesday.
